THE BOTTOM LINE

A very weak base of snow is supporting recent storm load in the upper and mid-elevation (3000m-4000m).   High risk of both natural and human triggered avalanches.  The risk remains Low below Gulmarg village (2600m) where no significant snowpack existed prior to the recent storm.  Avoid entering the mountains above treeline.  Avalanche mitigation is scheduled at Gulmarg alpine ski area Saturday: access to the ski area is strictly forbidden.
