THE BOTTOM LINE

Winds producing risk of slab avalanches on steep North alpine aspects.  Dangerous conditions due to old snow supported by weak snow at the ground.  Areas where previous avalanches have occurred have the best chance of reduced avalanche risk. Understand the present avalanche problems (below).
