THE BOTTOM LINE

Heavy snowfall and strong Southerly winds in the forecast for today.  40cm recorded this morning at Kangdoori.  Until now, winds have remained calm.  The alpine avalanche risk is considerable today; if winds increase today expect large natural avalanches from alpine elevations which may threaten runout paths near mid-elevation treeline.
